One of the few times I’ve witnessed Mr. Trump speaking without media commentary, other than video, I remember him saying that he really respects the military and that he would leave them alone and let them decide things.
So why is he telling the military what to do about trans gender recruits?
Today I learned that the banning of transgender people from serving in the U.S. military is older than President Trump who if the majority of online commentary is correct is the ban’s author.
But he is reinstating the ban not long after Obama cancelled it last year. Journalists should be teaching readers who in the military had, till Mr. Obama ended it, been thinking the ban good enough to have lasted lasted till 2016.
They say Donald Trump lies but if Donald trump hadn’t lied about immigrant problems in Sweden I wouldn’t have learned about Malmo, Sweden.
And if Donald trump lies don’t pundits lie too? When Shields and Brooks said in August 2015 after the first Republican candidate debate that Mr. Trump was not a serious candidate might that be considered no less a lie than whatever people have in mind when they say Mr. Trump lies, like when Huffington Post, in keeping with the not-a-serious- candidate posture put Trump’s politicking in their entertainment section; couldn’t that be considered a Trump-like blunder lie? And the pundits who said Clinton would win the election were they lying? Does speaking without understanding constitute lying?
Lies, and rhetoric have been ongoing Trump stories, but scarcely mentioned in the lead up to the president’s election is the growing influence in his United States government of the United States military.
I’ll guess that this is the craziest thing Mr. Trump said last night in Arizona about immigrant gangs:
…”This is like from a different age. We are taking these people. They don’t shoot people because it’s too fast and not painful. They cut them up into little pieces. These are animals. We are getting them out of here. We are throwing them in jail, throwing them out of the country. We are liberating our towns,” Trump said to cheers…
And according to reporters he also threatened to tear up NAFTA, and to debilitate congress if they did not fund his U.S. Mexico wall.
Former CIA head Mr. Clapper felt that the president’s performance in Arizona proves that he is unfit to hold the office of President of The United States. He says, I gather, that
…”This behavior and this divisiveness, and the complete intellectual, moral, and ethical void that the president of the United States exhibits — how much longer does the country have to, to borrow a phrase, ‘endure this nightmare’?”…
On Canada’s CP24 television which is piped into doctors’ waiting rooms in tax-supported hospitals Clappers’ words are summarized in a caption implying that the president might be a card short of a full deck.
The news is always scary like the partial eclipsing of the sun everyone’s been urged to prepare for, the darkness soon to be upon us, the darkness that porch lights ward off at night under street lamps, like people dying daily, some we’ve heard of, others we’re told were important.
Beauty like Jupiter sitting above the crescent moon against the blue early morning sky is too exhilarating to be news worthy
Uncertainty about “Trump” reverberates through equity markets
This caption repeats every few seconds at the bottom of the BNN video screen under a number indicating investing in Europe’s DAX has fallen 15.? points from its present height of over 22, 000 points – a really big drop eh?
By midday the Dow had dropped about 25 points from over 21000 points another worrisome drop caused by arch-villain, you know who.
But at the end of the day 4.00 pm., the Dow Jones average closed up more than 10 points.
The online media has assumed a prophetic stance. Media reporting is rumor-based prophecy.
Rumor-based because no one knows which media evidence is fact and which is rumor, for without media no one would be aware of more than we experience on the street, in our homes or in our gardens. The globe has become an extension of our field of experience, made real by media’s select depictions of happenings as far off as India and China more vivid than insects in our gardens; porch lights, powered mowers or shaded SUV’s.
So media predicts future events based on past media depictions of events known through projections by superior media intelligences which trembling we believe.
So we fear the coming war with Russia, with Korea(not China); the dangers of debt, aliens, zombies in a changing climate, “white nationalists”, and Mr. Trump, dreading certain doom like medieval man seeing signs of Armageddon.
